We had such a great Christmas this year! First, we had the Grandparents, Quayden and Jeni over for Christmas Eve. We had a great meal, then everyone opened their presents. Grandma Sue loved the gift I made her, a personalized calender with pictures of our family. The kids loved their gifts, and even I got a surprise. First, Jeni and Nikki gave me the complete Jane Austen anthology! Wahoo! Then, Bruce noticed a small box on the window. It was an Ipod for me! I wasn't expecting anything, so it was a total shock! Thanks guys! Justine arrived right after dinner and surprised us with some Christmas goodies! She is so generous. I always tell her to save her money and she always buys something anyway. She bought me these cute PJ's, Bruce a blanket, Emma Jayne a teddy bear, and the boys a trip to get ice cream. We are so blessed!
The Nix family made us a cool Christmas treat, Candy Sushi! It's too cute to eat! The apron Bruce is wearing was made by Angie's daughter, Kennedy. Isn't it cute? I love it! If I can just get it back from Bruce......
On Christmas morning, Mason woke up at 6:30! We told him he had to wait until the sun came up, but I could hear him playing with his toys! The funniest thing happened to Colter. While Bruce and I were still sleeping, he got his stocking. Colter had already received all of his gifts (snowboard, bindings, ski pass, new ski coat), so he just got a some things in his stocking. Imagine his surprise when he found $100! $100 that was supposed to be in JUSTINE'S stocking. I think he thought he had seriously cashed in on Christmas.... Santa must have been tired! While all this commotion was going on, Emma was still sleeping. The kids finally woke her up at 9:30. She was so excited with all of the fun stuff Santa had left. After a fun morning of playing, we loaded up and headed down to the Grandparents. We had a great meal, and enjoyed visiting with our family. It was pretty sad to not have Brenn, Sylina and Briggs there, but we were sure glad that they were home!
Chase made Justine this gorgeous purse! What a great guy...Later that afternoon, Grandma Sue, Jeni, Mardee, Tobin, Diana, Archer and Kyra came over for Christmas dinner. We had such a nice time visiting with our family. We are so lucky to have such a great family! Merry Christmas!
Grandma Sue and Emma Jayne.....
Christmas night we received this picture from Brenn. We are so grateful to have little Brigger's home. Even if we can't visit, we know he is in the best place he can be. We love you Briggs and are praying for your continued improvement. Merry Christmas little buddy!

Mason and Quayden join "Baldness for Briggs"!
Mason and Quayden have decided to join "team Briggs"! First Brenn shaved Quayden, then Bruce shaved Mason! It took forever! The shaver kept jamming, so we had to cut part of his hair! We love the end result and it's a great cause! Go team Briggs!!!
Here it goes......Making progress..

Gratitude....
I am overwhelmed. Truly overwhelmed. Santa will be visiting the Brenn Hill family after all! I have been tearing up all day. People that I haven't seen in years have sent gift baskets. People that have have their own struggles have offered assistance to a family they don't really know. It's amazing! I have had emails and Facebook comments galore. Everyone praying and offering support. You can't believe how much this means. When we decided to move to Seattle, my first thought was leaving our wonderful family and friends. This has weighed heavily on my mind. How much I'd miss them. This has reaffirmed all of those feelings. Before Briggs got sick, I was so wrapped up the move. Worried about everything (you know me...), now I can't believe how trivial those thoughts are. My sweet little nephew, not a bad temper, not a cross word, is fighting for his life. My sister-in-law, god bless her, hasn't left his side. Sleeping on a fold-out bed, 26 weeks pregnant with their first little girl. My brother-in-law, a born worrier like me, has been so strong and even. What an inspiration they have been. When Brigg's was diagnosed, we all wanted to know about this awful Medulloblastoma. I've read so much on the Internet and it's down right depressing. These kids are suffering, my nephew is suffering. Suffering from a horrible disease that takes away so much. Cancer doesn't discriminate, it can happen to anyone. But Brigg's is a fighter, and he's going to kick it! When I was growing up, I had only ever heard of one person having cancer, my wonderful Aunt Shanda. She has battled both ovarian and breast cancer and is still fighting. Later, I have had a few friends here and there who have been affected. Not anyone I had been very close to, that is until this year. This summer one of my best friends, Angie, had her sweet mother-in-law, Shanna diagnosed with breast cancer. We prayed for Shanna, she had surgery and her cancer is gone. Not long after this, my own dear mother-in-law started her battle with breast cancer. Again, we prayed. We were lucky. She was diagnosed early, and received radiation therapy. Right as soon as we learned the good news that she was in remission, my uncle Wade was diagnosed with lung/liver cancer. He had just begun his fight with this disease when Brigg's got sick. My mother-in-law and I had endless conversations about cancer. Little did we know how much we would learn. It isn't fair. It doesn't discriminate, it can hit anyone. My heart just aches for Brenn and Sylina, but I hope with prayer, positive thought and love they can get through this. That is what my dear friends and family have showed this past month. I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for all of the love. Here is a list of all of the amazing things that have happened (not in any particular order, since everyone has been equally great!)
* My friend Valorie, (who I haven't seen since high school), took a beautiful gift basket to PCMC. It was filled with fun stuff for both Briggs and Quayden, including a balloon that Briggs absolutely loves. Valorie was at the hospital with her darling little Simon, who has a birth defect that has him visiting Primary quite a bit. Thanks so much Valorie for taking time out to make their day a little brighter! You are a wonderful person!
*My cousin Tobin, his wife Diana their great kids, Kyra and Archer. I can't say enough how much I love these guys! Kyra is quite an artist, and as such created a get well Christmas tree card for Briggs! Its so cute. I have it hanging on my bulletin board (until it can get to Briggs), and walking by it makes me smile! I'm sure Archer helped, so thanks guys! Tobin and Diana very, very generously donated a sack of Santa toys and a check for a very substantial amount of money. I know Brenn and Sylina will be so grateful. Thanks for all of your support guys! I love you and am proud that you're the only "brother" I've ever known. And Diana, I'm so glad you married Tobin!!! I love you too!!! My very great (not because she's my GREAT), aunt Mardee was so kind to donate funds to the "Santa" fund. Thanks so much Mard for once again helping us in a time of need. We love you! You're one of the classiest people I know....
* My BFF Angie. Angie would give you the shirt off her back and she has proved it time and time again. Her selfless acts are truly awe inspiring! She has helped me plan, execute and (almost) deliver this whole "Santa" project. She knew my in-laws were low, and immediately brought a delicious dinner. She has been on the scout for great gifts for my family, as well as another deserving family. Her love shows no bounds. I love you Angie! You are truly a gift to me! As she said to me today, "helping others is what Christmas is all about". Angie's fabulous sister-in-law, Holly has been very generous in her help, prayers and funds. Thank you Holly! You're great!
* Our next BFF's Jon and Darci, as well as the entire Nix construction team. Their wonderful donation will be so appreciated by the family. You guys are truly the epitome of friends. Jon was Bruce's best man, and has always proved that title. He always steps up to the plate to help out. And Darc, you couldn't ask for a better BFF. She is loyal, kind and always there when I need her (which this year has been alot!). We love you guys so much!!!! You're the best!!!
*Joan and Dave Erickson. What a great family they are. Almost like Colter's second (or first!!), family. When Joan found out about Briggs, she immediately stepped in to help. Erickson claims made a substantial donation to help the family. Thanks so much for your prayers and well wishes! You guys always help in whatever way you can and I love you for it! You are a true Christian Joan!
* My great sisters Jeni and Nikki. They have donated a bunch of stuff!!! I don't want to go into specifics now (little eyes), but Santa is going to be carrying an awfully full pack, with some pretty stylish stuff! You two are so great and I love you so much! You're the very best aunt's in the
world!
* My Mom. Again, can't say specifically the very cool things Santa is bringing, but some of the best are coming from my sweet mom. She has been praying and thinking of Briggs since the diagnosis and has been a huge help. I love you mom!!!! I hope I'm half the mom you are....
* Our friends the Ivins family. Kasey came over today with a very generous donation. Thanks Kasey for your love and support. You have always had a great heart and I love you for it!
*The amazing, awesome, fabulous Kari Toponce! Keri is one talented chick! She was Mason's second grade teacher and we just couldn't let her go. Her blessing's and love for Briggs have been so wonderful! She created the most adorable book for Briggs. When I saw it for the first time, I couldn't stop crying! Thank you Keri for creating such a wonderful, heartfelt gift that Brenn, Sylina and especially Briggs, will treasure forever! I love you!!!!
* My buddy Jackie Empey, who again, I haven't seen in a long time, but immediately offered her help. Thanks for the donation Jackie. I'm so glad to know you!
* Our very good friends, the Payne family. Chris, Jen, Jake and baby Kaci generously stepped in and offered some very cool toys for Santa to deliver. You guys are so wonderful! We are so grateful to call you our friends!
* All of my friends and family on Facebook and otherwise who don't let a day go by without telling me how they are thinking and praying for Briggs. Your prayers are so important! Keep it up!
* Most importantly, my own beautiful babies (I'm sure Justine and Colter don't appreciate being called that, but they will always be our babies!) All the love and support you guys show your little baby cousin is truly beautiful! Maybe we ARE raising you right! Even little Emma talks about Briggs everyday. She can't wait until she can play with him!
Ok....I've got to quit before this post is two pages long! This is just my little neck of the woods. If you go over to Briggs carepage , you can see all of the love and support that has been showered on Brenn, Sylina, Quayden and especially Briggs. It is so wonderful! Every day and night we are praying for Briggs and we hope everyone can do the same. Thank you (could I say that ONE more time!). I couldn't end this post without saying how thankful I am for my inlaws, Vern and Joyce. Quayden has been staying with them since Briggs was hospitalized. They have taken such good care of him and are an inspiration to me with how strong they have been. We love you!!!

Quayden and Briggs Need Santa to visit....
I need your help! For those that don't have a Facebook account, here's the scoop: Brenn and Sylina have been attending to sweet little Briggers, giving him all the love and support that he needs to get well. Obviously they haven't had time to help Santa with his Christmas duties. This is where we come in. I need help to insure that their holiday season is a little brighter. Any money or toy donation will be GREATLY appreciated! Everything will be donated to the Hill family. If there is any money left over, I will deposit it directly into Brigg's account. I'm still working on getting Quayden's list, so I don't know specific toys yet, but please contact me if you can help. THANK YOU!!! We love them so much and it's so hard to see them go through this. We want to show them how much we care. Let me know what you can help with! Thanks!!!!!!

Our annual Bunco Christmas party!!!!!
I absolutely love the first Thursday of the month because it's Bunco night! We have been playing together for about six years now. We've lost and gained people over the years, but we always have a great group! For our Christmas party, we go out to eat and everyone brings a gift. After we eat, we play a fun game and everyone takes home a prize. I love these ladies!!!! Merry Christmas girls!

At the Annual Christmas Parade
On Saturday night we went to the annual Christmas parade and lighting of Christmas Village. It was packed! There were so many people, Emma had to watch the parade from daddy's shoulders! After the parade, we walked over to the park for the annual lighting of the village. As soon as the lights went on, fireworks lit up the sky. Emma loved it at first, but after about five minutes she started to get scared. Daddy had to hold her and give her loves. When it was finally over, we decided to walk through the village. There were so many people we couldn't even see the houses. We'll come back another time. Maybe after it snows.....

Black Friday.........
On Friday we braved the crowds and went shopping at the Gateway. Justine had to work, so we went over to Old Navy to visit her. It was really busy, but we still were able to visit and shop. After we shopped for awhile, we took Emma and Mason to visit Santa. We thought Emma would be nervous, but it was Mason who was hesitant to sit on Santa's lap. We had to prod him to go up! Not Emma! She marched right up and told him that she wanted a dolly for Christmas! What a cutie!

Happy Thanksgiving....
This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with Grandma Sue, Jeni, Mardee, Grandma Joyce, Grandpa Vern and Quayden. Tobin, Diana, Kyra and Archer stopped by later for dessert. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed spending time with our family. We are truly blessed! We loved having Quayden with us, but we wished Brenn, Sylina and Briggs could have been here. Little Briggs is recovering from his surgery and we can't wait until he can come home. Then it will really be Thanksgiving!
Emma Jayne, Quayden and Mason (I guess there was a flash issue here?)
Grandpa Vern and a very tired Emma Jayne...
Bruce the Turkey chef. It was so good!!!

Two wonderful girls!!!!
Here is Emma Jayne with the "Winegator", the mascot for our local grocery store. She loves him! This guy is just cardboard, but sometimes they put a large blow-up one in the parking lot. When we drive by and he isn't there, she alway's says "Oh-the Winegator must be sleeping". When he's there, she yells "Yeah! The Winegator woke up!!!". When the cardboard one is out, she has to run up and give him a big hug and a kiss! What a silly girl!
Justine and I had a fun "girls" day on Sunday, we went to Ulta! We've had such a stressful week, so it was nice to get away. She had a gift card that we gave her for her birthday, and I couldn't restist getting her some new perfume (She's such a good girl!). She ended up getting a bunch of new makeup and had to try it out as soon as we got home. Here she is. Isn't she beautiful? Not that she needs makeup to prove it....

Tuesday, November 11th is a horrible, crappy, yucky day
Yesterday was the 12th anniversary of my beloved grandma Wayment's death. Her passing was very hard for me, and it still is all these years later. I learned so much from her! I loved her so much. We were very close and I miss her tremendously. I planned on blogging on it yesterday, but we got some horrible news. My cute little nephew, Briggs was diagnosed with a brain tumor. We are all in shock! He is the sweetest little guy and we love him so much! He is having surgery today to remove it, so we can use your prayers and positive thoughts. Please keep Briggs, Brenn, Sylina and Quayden in your prayers! We love you guys!!!!!
UPDATE: Little Briggs continues to improve. He had his surgery, and is currently recovering. We love him so much! Please keep him in your prayers!Get well little Briggers!!!!

Ok. Get ready for a ton of Halloween photos! Our revelry started on Monday evening with pumpkin carving! Bruce and Colter got home from Seattle that afternoon and Bruce didn't have to fly out until Tuesday, so we cooked some tortilla soup and went to work! Mason's pumpkin was huge (as noted in the previous pumpkin patch post!)! It took him forever to scoop out all of the seeds and junk! I can't stand to have hanging pumpkin junk in my pumpkin, so it took me forever too! After I helped Mason with his pumpkin and carved mine, it was time to clean, separate and roast the seeds. While I was working on the seeds, Bruce pulled out the electric carving knife and went to work. He and Mason carved the "X" pumpkin! Pretty cool! They also carved Emma's pumpkin (which we grew in our garden). Here is our handy work:
On Halloween I took Mason, Drake and Emma Jayne to the Treehouse museum for the annual Halloween party. I thought Mason and Drake would be bored, but they had a great time....Emma's favorite part was the Halloween sing-a-long. She loved singing, and for the first time, didn't mind me singing with her!
Emma Jayne enjoying her "lady bug picnic" of sushi (my kind of picnic!!)....

I love the Zebra/Lady Bug combo here....

Little miss Halloween song singer!
On Halloween night we were so excited to have Bruce home to Trick-or-Treat! I cooked up a big pot of chili for dinner, then Bruce and I took Emma to the houses on our block. It was her first time Trick-or-treating & she had a great time! Luckily the weather was really warm....she didn't even need a jacket. After we were done, Grandma Sue, Jeni and Nikki came out to eat. I wanted everyone to sit down and eat, but Mason and Drake were going crazy-they couldn't wait, so Bruce took them out. The rest of us had a nice meal, passed out treats and watched "Ghost Hunter's live" on TV. Later, Grandpa Vern and Grandma Joyce stopped by. Bruce and Mason were by our house again, so Grandpa and Bruce took Emma around again. By the end of the night, Bruce was tired and starving and Mason had a huge bag of candy!!!!
Walking to the door....
