Here She Is....Baby Bean!!!

As Emma would say "our new baby cousin" is here! Quayden and Briggs are officially big brothers! Baby Bean was born March 25Th at 5:46 am. She was 7 pounds and 14 oz. They're still debating on a name, so for now she's Baby Bean! We all took turns holding her (very gent-a-ly, according to Emma). What a precious little sweetheart! We love our little bean!

Seeing the kids hold the baby made me think of what it was like when they met Emma for the first time. Here they are holding Emma Jayne on her first day.....

I couldn't leave my other babies out! Here's Mason on his third day. Juss and Colt couldn't hold him until later.
And here's Juss meeting Colter for the first time. Aren't they cute? And even as teenagers (GASP!!!) they still are!

Now I've got to go dig out Jussy's cute baby pics and scan them in. Check back later.....

Chuck.E.Cheese. Wow. Fun Times!

Yesterday we went to Chuck.E.Cheese for Quayden's birthday. Let me just say that Mason & Emma love this place! Colter? Not so much, but he was a good sport. He helped me with Emma, and even won some tickets for the kids. And that's what Mason loves. Tickets! All the games he likes to play are the ones that give out huge "Jackpots" of tickets. Like 100 tickets! Of course, he won twice!!! Not to mention the tickets that Colter and I gave him. I think he ended up with more than 300! Great. I thought, just what we need. More little plastic trinkets in our house. Mason ended up giving Quayden part of his tickets, so they both had plenty of plastic trinkets to take home. We picked out a ball and a slinky for Briggs, and Emma wanted a bracelet, ring and a purple spider! Speaking of Emma, her favorite game at CEC is skeeball. I know you're thinking, wow, She can play Skeeball? Nope. She just kind of hurls the ball (overhanded!!) down the lane. It's pretty frightening. I swear she's going to be a terror on the Softball field! Her other favorite thing (that she spent most of her tokens on) is a little pink ice cream truck with a Dalmatian as a passenger. It was hard to get her out when it was time to go. After the party, we went down to Grandma and Grandpa's for cake and ice cream. We had a great time, but wished Briggs could have been there. Next year for sure. We love you little buddy. And Quayden? HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GUY!!! We love you!!!!.

How cute is this little guy??? You could not ask for a cuter picture! Please continue to pray for our little Briggs!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Mardee invited Emma and I over for a St. Patrick's morning party! Every holiday she does a little themed party for Archer and Kaira. This time it was extra special because it was Grandma Sue's birthday. The kids had fun decorating green Oreos and making cards with stickers. After the party, Emma, Grandma, Mardee and I met Bruce at Rumbi's for lunch. Mardee and Grandma are planning a European vaction in the fall, so they were excited to tell us all about the places they'll visit. We had a nice lunch, then for dinner, we had our standard St. Pat's dinner-Corned beef and cabbage. YUM! Happy Birthday Mom! I love you!!!!!!

Quite a busy weekend!

Whew! We had a busy weekend. On Saturday morning, Mason played his last Basketball game of the season. He played a great game and even made a basket! Way to go Mason! After the game, I took the kids and Grandma Joyce to meet Grandma Sue, Jeni and Nikki at the Gateway. We had a wonderful lunch at Happy Sumo, then shopped! Later, Emma and Mason played in the water fountain and Mason got soaked (of course!). Luckily, the weather was pretty warm. What a fun day with the Grandma's!
We were able to visit with Juss for a bit when she got off work, and she and Emma posed for this picture:

The annual Michaelson St. Patrick's day party/Antelope Island bike adventure was held on Sunday. In the morning, Bruce and I met Jon, Taylor, Rich and Angie's cousins husband at the front gate. As we drove into the park, I noticed how different things were from the last time we visited. The water had receded quite a bit from the summer, and there were hardly any water fowl. It was very peaceful. Not many people visit in the spring, especially on a Sunday morning. We arrived at the trail head and started to ride. I felt bad for Bruce, having to ride with me. I am your typical "Sunday" rider. I love to look at the scenery, take my time, enjoy the moment. Bruce likes to ride and ride hard. He didn't seem to mind though, and I think I even caught him looking at the view! We rode about three miles on the dirt trail, then rode the asphalt back. The hill going back was a beast, but I managed to only push for a bit. And when I struggled, I thought of little Briggs and what he's going through. A steep hill is nothing compared to that! Speaking of Briggs (all he's been thinking about is hunting!), We didn't see any wildlife until we were riding back on the road. Bruce noticed a herd of Antelope right by the trail we were riding on! I took a picture for him, but you can hardly see the Antelope! I wish we would have seen them from the trail. When we started our descent down the hill, I was thinking back to how much fun it was as a kid to coast down the hills around our neighborhood. How rewarding it is to work hard (going up) and enjoy the benefit (going down). Isn't life like that? It was a beautiful morning, and a really fun ride. After the ride was over, we met back at Angie & Rich's for breakfast. Ang and Rich had cooked up a storm, and it was a very welcome sight to our road weary eyes! We visited for a while, then Bruce and I headed up the Grandma Sue's to pick up the kids. We raced home to shower, then back to the party for a wonderful Irish feast. The kids had a great time playing, and even had a leprechaun hunt! We love the Michaelson's and this is a great tradition that we look forward to every year.

If you squint really hard, you might be able to see the Antelope...

Mason in his festive green hat....Emma and her Leprechaun loot....Bruce was so exhasted from the festivities that he had to relax in Angie's "Snuggie"!!! I know what's on Bruce's birthday list.....

Surfing, Surfing, Surfing....

It's been so nice having Bruce home. I've been able to stay up late and sleep in while Bruce gets Mason off to school. I've been able to go to the grocery store ALONE, help at the school, go to Bunco and stay as long as I want (my mom stayed with the kids and I worried about her driving home late), walk around the block (haven't done it yet....but I COULD), ect, ect. However, there is a terrible habit I have picked up: Surfing the Internet. Facebook, reading blogs, reading the news, email, KSL.com,Ebay, Estsy, Craft websites, UGH! You get the point. I have so much I wanted to accomplish with this time. Have I done it??? Well, I have done a few freelance projects, made a blanket for the new baby, sewed a pair of PJ bottoms for Mason, played kitchen, tea party, Doll's, blocks, & puzzles with Emma, altered a dress for Juss, planned a Valentine party for the school, I've gone to many lunches, Basketball games/practice, Parent Teacher conference,...Wait. I guess I have done SOME things, but the dang Internet! I guess I'm so ADD I just love the constant change. And Facebook? It's awesome! I have connected with people that I haven't seen or heard from in YEARS! I even got Bruce sucked in! But for heaven sake.....I've got stuff to do! And I've got to do it by March 23rd when Bruce goes back to work. So wish me luck, and if you need me, message me on Facebook.....JUST KIDDING!

Sunday ride to the park, Monday build a snowman, and Wednesday a visit with Briggs!

Utah is definitely a weird weather state. They say if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes and it will change! Sunday was a beautiful day, so we were so excited to get our bikes out to ride to the park. Well, Justine was excited until we had the "you have to wear a helmet" talk. I can understand the frustration, Especially for a teenage girl. However, we have the rule for a reason and eventually she agreed. It was a beautiful day and a great ride. I took some cute pics of the girls and Bruce (the boys were at Grandma Sues)......No "helmet" pics of Juss though....

Now for the weather "twist". We woke up to a blizzard on Monday morning! Poor Juss slid on the ice and damaged her car. Thank goodness she wasn't hurt! Later in the day, Bruce and Emma went out and built Mr. Snowman. Wacky wierd weather! Hurry up Spring!

On Wednesday, we took Colter down to see Briggs. He hasn't seen him in months, and really wanted to see how he was doing. Briggs is starting his next three rounds of Chemo as well as his stem cell transplant, so we knew we wouldn't be able to see him for a while. Briggs was so happy to see Colt! He was watching a movie, and told Colter all about the dogs on the show. We're so proud of our strong little Briggs, and we pray for him daily. We were so grateful for the opportunity to spend some time with him before he starts treatment again. We love you buddy! Stay strong!

Happy Birthday Mason!!!!

Our little (not anymore!!) May-May turned 9 on March 4th. On Tuesday, Grandma Sue came out to take him to dinner at Tona. He got all dressed up, and enjoyed his "Bento box" dinner! Here are some highlights:

POST HIJACK: My amazing mom brought me the ultimate taste trifecta from Tona......My favorite, THE ORANGE ROLL! YUM YUM! A Salmon and asparagus roll topped with tobiko, truly a taste sensation! The Japanese call it Umami, I call it AWESOME! Back to the birthday fun.......
On Mason's birthday, I took cupcakes to his class. Luckily, there was an extra one for Emma! After we got home, Quayden came over. They played for awhile, then it was off to McDonalds for dinner! The kids had a great time (I think Colter even had fun!) playing in the playplace. After we were finished, we took Mason to pick out his gift, a Pokemon game (of course!). He didn't want Quayden to feel left out, so he wanted to get him a pack of Pokemon cards! What a good kid! When we dropped Quayden off, Bruce and I were able to sneak in to see Briggs! It was so good to see him! I didn't dare get too close, but Bruce went in and talked to him. He is getting stronger everyday. I took a picture, but it didn't turn out. I've got to get one before he starts his second round. proof Colter actually ATE at a McDonalds!!!Best Buddies! On Saturday, We took Colter, Mason, Drake, Quayden and Jack to the Kangaroo Zoo. The boys had a great time jumping on all of the slides and blow up toys. Nikki and Jeni met us there, and Nikki took some great pics! I'll post them when she gets them developed. After they were worn out, we met the grandparents, Emma J and Justine at home for some pizza and cake! Mason had such a great day! We love you big guy! Thanks to all of his great friends and family for sharing it with him.
