Last day of school

What a bittersweet day! Mason said goodbye to his 2nd grade class and his awesome teacher, Mrs. Toponce, who is taking a year (or so) off to spend with her adorable baby Jackie! He had a great year and will miss his teachers and all of his friends! We love you Mrs. Toponce!

Colter's band concert.....

The last band concert of the year was held on Monday. The boys did a great job.....They have learned so much this year! Way to go guys!

Mom, can we have a puppy???

Chase's dog had puppies! On Sunday we headed down to check them out. Colter really, really want's this puppy! We'll see......

BBQ at the Nix's

We had a great time at the Nix's BBQ on Saturday! The kids had a great time playing in the backyard and the adults had fun just visiting.......Yeah for the first BBQ of the summer!

Spelling bee

Mason and his buddy Andrew were able to go to the 2nd grade spelling bee! They didn't win, but the y did a great job! Way to go!

2nd Grade Talent show!

Mason had a funny talent for his talent show-He demonstrated how to make "rubber" eggs! We originally did it for one of Colter's science projects. All you need is a bowl of vinegar and an egg. Leave it in the fridge for a couple of days, and you have a "bouncy" egg! It was pretty funny to see Mason show the kids how to do it. ......

Mother's day

We had a great Mother's day this year. I got my present early, my bike, but I also got some great things from the kids. Mason made me a cute gift box and a bracelet at scouts and he also made me a neat calender at school. On Mother's day, Emma Jayne surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of tulips that she and Abbey had picked in Darci's garden (Luckily, it was ok with her!). That afternoon, Grandma Sue, Jeni, Mardee, Tobin, Diana, Kyra, and Archer came out for brunch. The food was great & everyone had a good time.

Mason get's his "Wolf"!

Way to go Mason!

Health and Safety fair.

Tonight was West Haven's annual health and safety fair. Mason wanted to participate in the bike rodeo, so we rode to the school. He had a great time riding through the obstacle course. It was a lot of fun. Emma Jayne loved the Search and Rescue dogs, which coincidentally, were brought by Brian and Kathy (Bruce's cousin) Bennett. The highlight of the evening was when we were able to sit in the Airmed helicopter! The pilot and crew were very nice and showed us all of the cool gadgets inside. Emma loved it when they took off and waved at us! She kept saying "bye bye helleecopper". We had a great time! Another funny thing-Colter and his friends volunteered to wear the "Crash Test Dummy" costumes, but by the time we got there, they had passed the job on to a couple of 6th graders! I really wanted a picture of Colt as a "Crash Test Dummy"!!!!!! I think Joan may have snapped a few.....if she did, I'll post it!

Happy early Mother's day!!!

On Saturday, Bruce took me to pick out my Mother's day present.....a very cool mountain bike! It is quite a step up from Juss's old bike. I love it! We went on a ride as soon as we got home. It has great suspension and rides so smooth. On Sunday, Bruce, Jon, Darci and I headed out for the east bench to ride the trails. We had a great time! Bruce and Jon are hard core bikers, so they were pretty far ahead of us, but Darci and I just enjoyed ourselves. Sometimes we walked our bikes, but we didn't mind. It was fun to just talk and check out the view. Hopefully this will be our new Sunday morning ritual, and by the end of the summer, Darci and I won't be pushing our bikes at all!

Friday night.....out to dinner!

On Friday night we went to a new restaurant called the Sonora grill. Here's the website: http://www.thesonoragrill.com/. The food was great! The guacamole was so good! They prepare it at the table, and give you the recipe. Emma ate a ton of it! Bruce and I enjoyed spending a fun family night with the kids.

Mason....Soccer star!

Mason loves to play Soccer. Every Saturday morning you'll find the Hill family cheering him on! He is always a great sport and has fun the whole time. Way to go Mason!
